Intelligence citations bibliography for updating this and other articles[edit]

You may find it helpful while reading or editing articles to look at a bibliography of Intelligence Citations, posted for the use of all Wikipedians who have occasion to edit articles on human intelligence and related issues. I happen to have circulating access to a huge academic research library at a university with an active research program in these issues (and to another library that is one of the ten largest public library systems in the United States) and have been researching these issues since 1989. You are welcome to use these citations for your own research. You can help other Wikipedians by suggesting new sources through comments on that page. The information seems to be repeating itself a lot. The repetition is also causing circular definitions and confusing explanations of the concepts that you are trying to build off of. It may help eliminate some of the repetition if you find sources for the general information in the introduction. Good resources will concretely define key concepts and eliminate the need for circular reasoning. There also appears to be both footnotes and APA style citations on this article; be sure to keep it consistent.Saholmes (talk) 20:52, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The overview at the top of the page is very short and does not give a very good idea of the information on the page. The introduction and the assessment sections are very repetitive and lack good citations. The notable research, Shepard and Metzler in depth, and Vandenburg and Kuse sections all seem like they could be combined under one research heading. This, along with removing some of the circular definitions in the intro and assessment sections, would help create a more concise article. In the Effect on athleticism and artistic ability section, the first experiment cited (Pietsch, S., & Jansen, P. (2012)) is described as having three experimental groups, but only one of these groups is described. As a whole, a lot of information is missing about the procedure of the experiment.There is also another experiment by Tsubasa Kawasaki involving posture and mental rotation that is relevant to this section. The citations that are currently in APA style need to be changed to Wikipedia style citations. Some of the sections could be combined and renamed to eliminate repetition as well as confusion. This combination would make the article more concise and understandable. The "Real Life Application" section at the end of the article could be expanded to include relevant research on groups outside of athletes. I think everything in this article well correspond to the subject but all issues aren’t explored deep enough. For what I read, the sources are neutral and seem reliable. However this article would need more clarity. First, I think the structure is a little bit confusing and might be reorganized for a better reading. Also, the sources aren’t as well used as they should be. There is a lack of references in the text to refer precisely to the sources. Then, the sections aren’t really equal and aren’t treated with the same diligence. For example, the work of Shepard and Metzler is over represented and the section “real life application” is not enough developed. This article presents an interesting basis but it seems to me that it needs to be reshaped and complemented. Ingrid WAGNON (talk) 02:32, 7 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
