Ridiculous : *ape is absolutly and obviously not Germanic, but typical of an unidentified Indo-European language. Nortmannus (talk) 21:53, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"... born in Batavia"[edit]

Note that Aurelius Victor does not say that Carausius was born in Batavia. All he says (and his does seem to be the fullest account) is "a citizen of Menapia", to use Bird's translation.
