Mémoires d'Hadrien → Memoirs of Hadrian – Put the title in English, since this is English WP — RedMC 13:32, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Memoirs of Hadrian.jpg[edit]

Image:Memoirs of Hadrian.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Footnotes explaining various characters in Hadrian's Memoirs?[edit]

I would appreciate footnotes giving brief biographies or explanations of the many characters in this story.

Right now, I'm puzzled by Celsus. There were real Celsuses (one in particular wrote an attack on early Christianity), but he does not seem to be Hadrian's feared rival in the novel.

Was Hadrian's Celsus fictional, or a real personnage? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.169.124.181 (talk) 23:26, 29 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Plot summary[edit]

Evanderr54 (talk) 21:43, 5 April 2012 (UTC) I added and revised a detailed plot summary. I felt this was necessary since the existing description was very general. I hope it is not too long or detailed (I left out as much as possible!). Feel free to revise any errors. Might be a good idea in the future to add a separate section comparing historical Hadrian to Yourcenar's "Hadrian".[reply]

PS I used the english translation for summary (2005)

New: the dead link[edit]

The link to IMDB is dead; my search at IMDB was of no avail either. Perhaps plans for the film have been dropped? Who knows. ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.30.104.30 (talk) 22:40, 2 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
