I removed the following paragraph from the article. Somebody who knows more about the situation might want to incorporate parts of it, in neutral language. --Bonadea 08:47, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Medvegja Municipality was populated with the majority of the people Albanians until 1970. From that time the seerrbian goverment started a repression into the Albanian population so today we have only 208 albanians living there. Village merkonje it was populated with albanian peopleand for 30 years there are no albanians there. Serbia govermentdid an ethnic cleansisng in this village in the Ballkan wars and in 1945 after world war II finished his cleansing. There are to many villages that were popullated by albanian peoplethere like Svirce,Retkocer,Grbace, etc, and now we have Albanians only in the Sijarine, and Tupalle vilage.
Nothing to incorporate there. For example this map show that Serbs were majority in Medveđa municipality before 1970: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:SFRYugoslaviaetno3.jpg So, we have here just unsourced and unproved statements. PANONIAN (talk) 10:06, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Alternative name[edit]

@Crazydude1912: @Sadko: WP:PLACE: Relevant foreign language names (one used by at least 10% of sources in the English language or that is used by a group of people which used to inhabit this geographical place) are permitted. Local official names should be listed before other alternate names if they differ from a widely accepted English name. [..] Infoboxes should generally be headed with the article title, and include these alternate names. I don't think that this almost two-month dispute should continue about an area in which 1/5 of its citizens are Albanians.--Maleschreiber (talk) 06:41, 30 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

And? There is not a word about the official name, but alternative names in the lead and infobox. This is logical mistake. Sadkσ (talk is cheap) 07:18, 30 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
We add alternative names not based on what is official or not (in this case Albanian is also official), but based on whether it is a relevant name (used by at least 10% of sources in the English language or by substantial group of people who live in the area). Albanian fits those criteria. There's no reason for such a small dispute to continue when policy overwhelmingly supports the inclusion of the alternative name in Albanian.--Maleschreiber (talk) 07:25, 30 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I do not see that part described in the quoted policy. Sadkσ (talk is cheap) 07:35, 30 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
