Uh[edit]

Uh...medical geology sounds rather specious as a field. The examples given are fairly unconvincing as to their relevance as any facet of geology. Rolinator 14:08, 26 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Did a bit of googling & came up w/ some valid references. Seems like they are redefining a variety of environmental problems as this new field. Anyway the references will provide lots of material for article expansion whenever anyone feels the urge :-) Could be tied in with geological forensics or forensic geology, but I guess there's no article on that (or what name would it be?), hey - I've got a book on it, maybe I'd best write one ... yeah - someday. Yes, it here are a few papers in the references section but not much meat is available. Lots of research needed. It looks like the field is just getting off the ground. Ok, so medical geology is a specialty of geology, butWhat are the core principles of medical geology? Issues? Notable medical geologists? Prospect77 01:23, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

External Link[edit]

I would like to add the link SERC: Geology and Human Health to this page. The Science Education Resource Center is a page for educators, and this section specifically focuses on medical geology topics and how they can be taught. Thanks for considering this. Please read WP:EL - we don't promote our own stuff. Vsmith (talk) 17:03, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fluorosis[edit]

Does fluorosis after a volcanic activity fall into this discipline? [1] The same thing has been recorded in Iceland and else where.--Aspro (talk) 23:06, 21 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There is also Arsenic contamination of groundwater and Geophagy--Aspro (talk) 17:55, 9 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Possible Additions to the Page[edit]

I am updating this page as an assignment for a university class, I thought some updates should be made as medical geology is becoming a large field. Perhaps adding sections such as; history/background information, environment and our health, IMGA, medical geology courses and diseases that can be caused by the earths elements, would be helpful. Anthropology: Environment and Society - Peer Review[edit]

Hello! I am in the Environment and Society class at MTA and selected your article to peer review. It looks as though you put a lot of effort into the article and added a few new topics (which is great)! The article is written very well, my only concern is that it may sound to biased. It is written like a paper rather than an encyclopedia article (should read more scientific). Other than that good work! AdnaloyMTA (talk) 14:45, 12 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
