Original Name[edit]

The venue now known as the Rabobank Arena was not "originally known as Centennial Gardens." That may have been the name before it was changed to Rabobank, but it was the Bakersfield Civic Auditorium long, long before it was changed to either of those renames. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Batman144 (talkcontribs) 03:31, 18 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

External links modified[edit]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to 2 external links on Rabobank Arena. Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:

Rabobank ArenaMechanics Bank Arena – The naming rights partner of the Arena has changed to Mechanics Bank. See here: https://www.mechanicsbank.com/About-Us/Newsroom/ArtMID/690/ArticleID/52 Nickwynne (talk) 17:46, 27 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose, pending proper justification: What is the WP:COMMONNAME? Wikipedia is presumably not one of the signatories of the contract for these "naming rights". —BarrelProof (talk) 20:47, 27 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I believe at this point, Mechanics Bank Arena is the common name, see: https://www.bakersfield.com/sports/record-crowd-sees-condors-top-ontario---on-annual/article_8c37dac4-1483-11ea-9a43-af702366a862.html, https://www.turnto23.com/news/local-news/jojo-siwa-bringing-big-bows-bubbly-energy-to-bakersfield-in-march, https://bakersfieldnow.com/news/local/tickets-to-see-rock-band-kiss-go-on-sale-this-month Nickwynne (talk) 20:09, 3 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Opposition struck above, since the question I asked has been considered (at least to some degree). —BarrelProof (talk) 22:28, 3 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Typically we do give more weight to the current official name and usually change when the naming rights change. Especially for smaller arena's like this. -DJSasso (talk) 13:39, 3 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
