Should this really be an article? It seems it should be a wiki category for categorizing articles of Gainesville mayors. The information in the article appears to duplicate content in the articles devoted to each mayor of Gainesville and the City of Gainesville. Waters.Justin (talk) 13:31, 7 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No, it should be deleted. I had intended to ask the same question here, but you beat me to it. Mayor of Gainesville is mostly a ceremonial title, anyway, the mayor being a city commissioner who additionally chairs the commission.

Note that few mayors of Gainesville have an article about them.

Also note that the list of Mayors of Gainesville is incomplete and also has differing gaps than the "Partial list of mayors of Gainesville, Florida" in Gainesville, Florida#Mayor. Vincent J. Lipsio (talk) 14:16, 7 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
