Where is he now?[edit]

Information online about MS is surprisingly scarce for a once reasonably active conductor. It would appear that he has since become something of a recluse. I'd like more info if anybody else can be bothered to go out and get it. Daedalus 96 (talk) 23:00, 10 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You may want to try subscribing to DSCH Journal and following their social media pages. I think he sits on the magazine’s board, possibly in an honorary role. He has contributed occasionally to the publication. One of their early issues contained some valuable insights into his father’s music that he gave at a university lecture in the 1990s. In addition, the magazine has posted on their social media brief clips of Maxim conducting. One video I recall was of a fairly recent concert in Russia where he led his father’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with either his grand- or great-granddaughter as soloist. My understanding is that he now resides in Russia, but I could be wrong. Hope this helps a bit. CurryTime7-24 (talk) 07:23, 11 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
