Maxim date of founding[edit]

The early history of Maxim is somewhat obscure. Even within this article it gives two founding dates: 1914 and 1920 - both can't be right, both are probably wrong.

As best I can determine, Carlton Maxim built his first fire engine in 1914, essentially for his own use. Maxim Motor Co was then founded in 1918, and began production (or began deliveries) in 1920. Various sources use the word "founded" very sloppily.
