Total Failure[edit]

I have to say in my opinion the well intentioned edit by User:Total Failure of April 2011 is just that. Friedlander is a most important figure in the history of Lieder and for his editions, and this edit has expurgated a good deal of the more useful content of the article and has consequently distorted its frame of reference in a very unfortunate way. Certainly it needed pruning. I propose to reinstate quite a lot that has been taken out, but please note in a spirit of remedy not of kneejerk reversionism.
