Reference to the Lithuanian journal with a similar title[edit]

There also exists (or existed?) the journal Litovskij matematičeskij sbornik; I was just searching for two articles published in it in the sixties. Could please someone knowing more include some information about the journal in the present article, or start a new one and include here a link? Lutz Mattner (talk) 13:19, 16 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of material about anti-Semitism[edit]

The editor who made this deletion [1] seems to think it is Wikipedia's purpose to "promote" the journal. I don't know whether the deletion was justified. It is the only edit that anon user has made in Wikipedia. Nurg (talk) 05:09, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am divided on the issue. The justification for removing the material was of course careless. The episode was highly unusual and without a doubt notable. At least one of the victims didn't want his name associated with the AMS' protests. I have no idea what the exact political background was, or what the journal's policies are like now. The way we previously discussed this was likely inappropriate since it tainted the entire journal, over its entire existence, because of what may well have been a confined episode. Not discussing it at all may be slightly better. The only thing I know for sure is that I don't know enough to write a better discussion. --Hans Adler (talk) 12:02, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
