I don't think it's reasonable to mix "The Monkees" in (as group or series) - neither the band nor films about it, nor the dance were inspired by "The Monkees" as either of them started definitely earlier than American series and band; thus the only reason to leave them in would be if some reliable source have actually compared them. The article doesn't say anything was inspired by the The Monkees. The article says that his song was inspired by his own character and it uses the American TV show as an example to illustrate the style of his show. Wayne (talk) 16:04, 23 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with Tatewaki, this is original research unless the comparison can be sourced, and the chronology is dubious. Also, the Monkees were a parody of the Beatles films like Hard Day's Night anyway. Removed. Slowends (talk) 05:23, 25 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
