Works[edit]

Another of her works which is omitted from this page is a short entitled "Two Friends." It is a well-studied work, particularly in feminist and lgbt criticisms. Could someone add this as I am unsure of how to?

Year of birth[edit]

In American Short Stories of the Nineteenth Century (ISBN-10 046001840X), pg. 324, Wilkins' year of birth is given as 1862 (not 1852). Unsure which is correct. Harrigan 10:32, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've got three other sources which all list the year as 1852:

The first thing I noticed about this page was the extensively long bibliography page of all of Mary E Wilkins works. The biography section is quite long itself and is basically a good summary of her life but there can be more added. There could be more added on how her environment and religious restraints had influenced her writing. Also in the biography section it mentions that Wilkins and her husband were married in 1901 but on the right hand side where all the fast facts about Wilkins is located it states they were married in 1902. This can be misleading and should be clarified for future reference. There is also one reference that needs a title added to it. Going back to the bibliography page, since there are so many works mentioned by Wilkins and also earlier in the biography section it was swiftly mentioned that her environment influenced her writing; some of those works should be examples of that. There should be a section of her genre/style of writing since there are many writing pieces by her in the bibliography. The writing section should be extended and or a whole new section of Mary E. Wilkins writing style/genre should be added to the page. GiselleGuzman (talk)GiselleGuzman

Start of Career History[edit]

I inserted a sentence explaining when Mary Freeman's short story career began. I believe this is relevant to show the transition in her career as a children's author to her career as a short story writer.Jenniferhart210 (talk) 00:26, 19 April 2017 (UTC)Jenniferhart210[reply]
