Spelling of Zeiler/Zeiller name?[edit]

Why is Zeiler/Zeiller's last name spelled in the English Wikipedia article with one "L"? German Wikipedia and the Bavarian State Library catalogue, as well as the VD 17 bibliography all spell his last name Zeiller. Is this an error?
