Spelling[edit]

I've changed the first sentence from "often misspelt" to "often spelled" and removed "in English," since millions of Hispanics with this name always spell it without the accent regardless of whether they're writing in English or in Spanish (several other Spanish names also exhibit this behavior). "Misspelt" carries an inaccurate connotation for the variation in spelling.

Also, I've changed "son of Martin" in the info box to "son of Martín" (added accent) to match the spelling giving in the discussion of its origin in the article and to follow suit with the page being titled "Martínez" and not "Martinez," Frito31382 (talk) 08:12, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mistake[edit]
