Ancestry[edit]

I removed the ancestry section but it has been challenged, Shand's ancestry has no relevance to why he has a page as a writer and conservationist, it has no encyclopedic value or relevance to the subject, all that is needed is already in family, ediucation and marriage. Note that wikipedia is not a geneological website and only includes information directly relevant to the subject. Propose the ancestry section is removed again as not relevant or needed, thanks. Referring to his sister Camilla[edit]

Setting aside the still thorny but hopefully soon-to-be-resolved issue) of whether Camilla should be called queen or queen consort (please don't focus on that issue here), we have another issue on this page: how should we refer to Camilla in this article. Should we refer to her as Camilla Parker-Bowles (which is how she was most commonly referred to in reliable sources for most of her brother's lifetime), as Duchess of Cornwall (which is how she was known at the time of his death), or as Queen? Rosbif73 (talk) 06:27, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I guess a better way would be to say “brother of Camilla Parker Bowles, the future Queen Camilla,” like in the article for John Bowes-Lyon. AKTC3 (talk) 06:42, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I would recommend using her current title, Queen Camilla. Why beat around the bush. GandalfXLD (talk) 17:16, 22 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Equally interesting is the mentioning of Shand being a godfather to one of Jemima Goldsmith's sons. Their father is Imran Khan, a muslim and Jemima is Jewish (part of the Rothschilds as far as I know). Do they have godfathers? I think it looks like an oddity that should be explained. 2001:8003:A070:7F00:5909:1FC0:2D63:F906 (talk) 04:51, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
