Untitled[edit]

Some of the facts in this article are not consistent with other observations. For instance "It is also the fifth largest (by volume) tree in the world with a circumference of 89 feet (27 m) " is not consistent with the article on Giant Sequoias which lists the top 10 which are all bigger.

The top ten list is ordered by volume; if a tree is really tall, it needn't be so stout to rank above a shorter but stouter tree. The cited measurements also ought to specify at what height above ground the measure is taken (I'll have to fix that!) as they have such pronounced butt swell: a ground level measurement can easily be a couple of metres more than a measure taken at the forester's standard 'breast height' (1.3m above ground) measure. - MPF 08:02, 28 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Also, the fact that it fell down in 1969 is misleading at best because i just took the image on the right in 2005 (note the sign says grizzly giant), and it's either back up, or never fell... i don't know too much about the history.

The one that fell down was the tunnel tree - a different individual. The wording on that isn't too clear here, I'll fix it. - MPF 08:02, 28 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Bolding[edit]

I was just wondering what the intent is of bolding the phrase "Grizzly Giant" and the phrase "Mariposa Grove Museum" in the lead. Thanks. -Nik-renshaw (talk) 23:00, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
