I find it interesting that he was born during his great-great-grandfather's lifetime. Should we mention it? HustonJMarble (talk) 00:57, 20 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

M. Junius Silanus was born in 14, first year of the reign of Tiberius. Augustus died that same year, so technically, they didn't co-exist. Jfb1980 (talk) 20:23, 20 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
My mistake... maybe if he was born before August 19. But, I see now that his great-great-grandMOTHER, Scribonia, was alive two years after his birth! Maybe we should mention this in the page about her. And maybe not. This is less important. HustonJMarble (talk) 15:54, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If you want to add any details, go ahead it's allright to edit and plus this article need citations. There I added some from tacitus.Jfb1980 (talk) 23:32, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Who's Who?[edit]

The wikipedia biographical articles about Roman aristocrats of the late Republic and early Imperial periods are full of dubious overstatements, errors and contradictions. Another article alleges that Appius Junius Silanus was the husband of Aemilia, the great-grand-daughter of Augustus Caesar, and the father of her children, the Silani persecuted under the Emperor Nero. Yet, this article claims that Marcus Junius Silanus as the father of these including his namesake, the subject of this article. Most historians will say that we are uncertain, but the majority who do make a claim, say that it was Marcus Silanus.72.199.110.160 (talk) 18:40, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
