Gilroy Gardens[edit]

There is a carousel in Gilroy Gardens Family Theme Park (California), which has Illions written on it, and the web-page https://www.gilroygardens.org/play/rides/illions-supreme-carousel says: “One of the most ornate carousels ever built and one of only three ever produced by M.C. Illions, this beauty dates back to 1927. It has 64 beveled glass mirrors, 1,200 lights, 96 carved figures and 48 horses lead by our spectacular Rose Horse.”. But the census page at https://carousels.org/USACensus/stdqueries/census-INAC.html does not mention Illions, though for Gilroy Gardens it lists “Mangels Kiddie 1940? METAL” and “Brass Ring Entertainment 2000 NEW”. Seems confusing; possibly someone interested in this page may be able to figure it out. Shreevatsa (talk) 04:01, 27 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, Gilroy Gardens explains it as: “Modern fiberglass carousel inspired by the original built in 1927 by M.C. Illions”! Shreevatsa (talk) 05:05, 27 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

On the other hand, there are pages like https://carouselhistory.com/restoring-the-1927-m-c-illions-supreme-carousel/ which talk of restoring: “Brass Ring Carousel Company is Currently Restoring the 1927 Illions Supreme” with this history: “Harry Illions, eldest son of M. C. Illions, […] moved the machine from Celoron Park in New York to Los Angeles, CA, in 1952. The Supreme would operate at the LA Fairgrounds in Pomona until the late 1970s. […] In the fall of 2010, after three decades in storage, the 1927 Illions Supreme came out of its containers, ready for restoration.” So may be worth adding to the page after all?
