Category:Saltpeter works[edit]

The "Salitreras" (Saltpeter works) are an important phase of the economic, social and political life of Chile at the end of the 19 century and beginning of the 20 century and they must be put in a common category in order to inform the reader about the relation to other articles in the wikipedia.

This rationale is valid also for some articles that are still "stub"-class. The fact that the Salitreras are not mentioned in the stub doesn't mean that it is not related to. It means only that the article has to be improved to a normal WP article, this regards for example Pedro Gamboni. --Best regards, Keysanger (what?) 09:22, 21 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

There seems to be an abandoned saltpeter works north of Route 24 and west of Route 5, called Campamento Unión Candelaria, but that name is not found on List of Saltpeter works in Tarapacá and Antofagasta. TGCP (talk) 22:16, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The United Kingdom Flag design[edit]

About the line " It was laid out on the basis of the flag of the United Kingdom". The flag design claim is unsubstantiated. I have been in Maria Elena, people do talk about the alleged UK flag design, that I do not contest. However, it is just a Grid Plan with two diagonals. In the absence of a reputable source that the design was purposefully meant to resemble the flag, this looks like a coincidence and inspired an urban myth. Either we quote a source about the design inspiration or the claim should be changed. Godot (talk) 10:20, 24 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
