1. Well-written:
1a. the prose is clear, concise, and understandable to an appropriately broad audience; spelling and grammar are correct.

From: Both Shajan and Ismail were returning competitors from London 2012, with the former leading the Maldivian squad as the flag bearer in the opening ceremony.

To: Both Shajan and Ismail were returning competitors from the 2012 London Olympics, with the former leading the Maldivian squad as the flag bearer in the opening ceremony.  Done

Use past tense verb: Maldives has received universality slots from IAAF to send two athletes (one male and one female) to the Olympics.  Done I believe

Use a different verb than receive: Ismail finished 8th in her heat with a time of 24.96 seconds, receiving a national record but failing to qualify for the semifinals.  Done

Just verifying, he made the national record? That is what the sentence indicates: He could not beat his national record of 10.33 seconds. -Yes.

If we start by saying the Maldives, it should be consistent through the article: Maldives have received...  Done

55 what? - ...being 55 shy of qualification with a time of 26.72 seconds.  Done

Wrong verb tense: Ismail finished 8th in her heat with a time of 24.96 seconds, receiving a national record but failing to qualify for the semifinals. --I've changed received to attaining. Not sure what else should be done?

Should universality be cap? Maldives have received a Universality invitation  Done

1b. it complies with the Manual of Style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, and list incorporation.

I learned this recently, but for the citations, only one wikilink per source. For example, FINA is wikilinked multiple times.  Done

Keep a common date format, can't have both 2017-01-24 and 18 April 2015 in the citations. Pick a style and run with it.

No ALLCAPS in titles, such as "London 2012 50M FREESTYLE WOMEN"  Done

No need to have the citation in the lead paragraph, remove.  Done

Use last names, not first names.  Done

2. Verifiable with no original research:
2a. it contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline.

Fix dead link  Done

This needs cited: All of Maldivian participants competed at the Games through universality slots from the International Association of Athletics Federations and FINA.  Done

2b. reliable sources are cited inline. All content that could reasonably be challenged, except for plot summaries and that which summarizes cited content elsewhere in the article, must be cited no later than the end of the paragraph (or line if the content is not in prose).
2c. it contains no original research.

Neither source says anything about universality: Maldives has received universality slots from IAAF to send two athletes (one male and one female) to the Olympics.  Done

Need to source the national record: Ismail finished 8th in her heat with a time of 24.96 seconds, receiving a national record but failing to qualify for the semifinals.  Done

I don't see Saaid's quarterfinal time in that citation. --It's there. Just it goes from preliminary (heat) to round 1 (quarterfinals).

2d. it contains no copyright violations or plagiarism.
3. Broad in its coverage:
3a. it addresses the main aspects of the topic.
3b. it stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail (see summary style).
4. Neutral: it represents viewpoints fairly and without editorial bias, giving due weight to each.
5. Stable: it does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute.
6. Illustrated, if possible, by media such as images, video, or audio:
6a. media are tagged with their copyright statuses, and valid non-free use rationales are provided for non-free content.
6b. media are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions.

If you can't find any for Maldives (I know it is difficult), at least get an image of where they competed.

7. Overall assessment.

For the universality citations, I still do not see where those citations explicitly say that the Maldives competitors received universality placements. Kees08 (talk) 19:56, 4 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I changed my mind on that. It is verifiable as it is. Just need to get the date formats the same in the citations and it will pass. Kees08 (talk) 05:57, 9 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
