Would you please just make one complete list for the collections and exhibitions sources that you want added? not one at a time. Editors with a conflict of interest should be mindful not to consume excessive time on talk pages, per WP:PAID. Feel free to resubmit this one the list is complete. Thanks. --- Possibly (talk) 19:24, 14 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please add the below photo from Wikicommons to the page.

You have to get the copyright cleared on that, it is obviously not your work. See Wikimedia commons. Please put all your requests together. --- Possibly (talk) 21:44, 14 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

>>>>>>>>>>>.

Hello...the Myers estate -- of which I am a representative of...does own the copyright to this photo -- which is why I posted it and was able to post it. I listed it as "my work" because there is no option in WWCommons as such for people who own copyrights but weren't the creator.

I am trying to do the best I can here.

Also...I dont understand why it is a big deal for me to make single corrections or suggestions as I find new material. I am not consuming excessive time. That just sounds snarky -- which I am not being. It takes as much time or more to DENY the request and type a response as it does to accept it and make the entry better.

I do appreciate everyone's help.

Malcom Myers & Atelier 17[edit]

Hi Jayho1970, You reference this site when stating that Malcolm H. Myers was at Atelier 17. The reference confirms that he received two Guggenheim fellowships, but not that he was ever at Atelier 17 either in New York or in Paris. There was a little overlap from 1950-1955 when Stanley William Hayter was running an Atelier in Paris and some of his students were keeping the New York open. But again, can you point to anything that states that Myers was at either? I will be removing his name from the list you have placed Myers on "Artists associated with Atelier 17 - New York (1940-1955). I have also added a "citation needed" to the Myers article. Best, WomenArtistUpdates (talk) 21:41, 15 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@WomenArtistUpdates: I am probably the one who added the Guggenheim source. I just found a source for the second fellowship in Mexico: "Myers was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1950 which took him to Europe to work and trave1. The fellowship was renewed in 1954, giving Myers the opportunity to visit Mexico." See this.--- Possibly (talk) 22:22, 15 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@WomenArtistUpdates: also, for the Atelier 17 statement, I found a catalogue for one of Myer's shows: "Part of that time was spent in Paris , working in Hayter's Atelier 17 and also in the workshop of Jacques Desjobert where he made his first color lithograph titled Gold Horns." See this. --- Possibly (talk) 22:26, 15 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks to you both for this clarification and edit! Jayho1970 (talk) 18:02, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Jayho1970, As a COI editor you should not be making changes to the article. Additionally do no return uncited information to the article. Thanks. WomenArtistUpdates (talk) 00:24, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello. I am the foremost expert on Myers's work, career and estate. I am the authentication source for his artwork. Those facts mean that I am the single most informed person on Myers...and it makes no sense why I should be precluded from making edits to his page. I totally want to follow the rules and cite all info I can. But again, I don't see any reason why I should not be able to make the Myers Wiki page better with information I know to be true. I do have a COI, and I disclosed that. However, that COI would only apply if I was using the Wiki site for personal gain -- which I am not. Having an expert enhance a Wiki page is not a COI. Thanks for listening and considering. I am not trying to be rude or difficult, but I spend a lot of time getting info about Malcolm correct and trying to disseminate it correctly. Kind Regards, Jason Jayho1970 (talk) 00:41, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Jayho1970, Please see Wikipedia:No original research. The prohibition against original research means that all material added to articles must be verifiable in a reliable, published source. That means you will have to find another forum your expertise. Perhaps by getting it published in a recognized source (see WP:SOURCE). While the www.malcolmmyers.com website would be considered a primary source (and therefore not to be used for citation on Wikipedia) they may be interested in your research as well.
You should not be editing this article directly and you should learn and understand how Wikipedia sourcing works. It is how the encyclopedia maintains its integrity. Thanks. WomenArtistUpdates (talk) 01:35, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
