Photos[edit]

Hear hear, let it be known that East Carolina University (specifically, the Joyner Library) has in their archives the records of the Marietta Manufacturing Company. I've confirmed with the library that there are photos of the Randolph included in those archives. I've submitted a request for them to make those photos available under one of Wikipedia's acceptable free use licenses. I'll update the status as soon as I hear something back. In regard to the C rating and making a B class, the article is a bit on the short side which is the B2 requirement in the project banner. Quite possibly some ships aren't that documented to where the article could be expended more than it already is. That depends on what you think about the chances for expansion. Except for station and routine mine planter work during WW II with Army and any additional information about days as Thunderbolt, on or below the surface, there is nothing to add. There is no naval service, beyond maintenance and perhaps the tow to Florida, as the ship was acquired and went directly into inactive reserve until disposal. With the one exception, USS Miantonomah (ACM-13), the Camanche class' naval history can be covered in a brief event/date summary of reclassification, final naming and disposal. These ships are primarily of military interest for their Army coastal fortification twilight role. Web records, even published records, for details of that are shrouded in wartime security so short of a search of archives unlikely to emerge. Palmeira (talk) 17:11, 10 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
