Rotterdam[edit]

Given that the barrier exists to protect the city of Rotterdam, shouldn't it be actually mentioned somewhere really high up in the article? Dutch names of towns (On the English Wikipedia no less) are cute, but let's look at the bigger picture? Wayne Hardman (talk) 00:39, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Spelling: Maeslantkering or Maaslantkering[edit]

I think the correct spelling is Maeslantkering (like the title of the article). However, in the current version of the article, the spelling Maaslant (which I think is incorrect) occurs more often than Maeslant (9 times vs 6). Since this is a Dutch structure, I looked at the Dutch version of the article, and there the spelling Maaslant is not found at all. “Largest moving structures”[edit]

The article mentions:

It is one of the largest moving structures on Earth, rivalling the Green Bank Telescope in the United States and the Bagger 288 excavator in ...

But the nearest article I could find was List of largest machines, which only lists Bagger 288. Should this structure be added to that page? Tkil (talk) 06:45, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
