Box office collection[edit]

The current box office collection of the movie is hotly contested. Please see this source from International Business Times. The current source used in the article, Bollywood Hungama, is acceptable, but since this is controversial, I would like to include additional sources. this source from India.com also suggests that it is still an open issue, and accurate numbers may not be available until the smoke clears. And now the fully-protected article has a (incorrectly-formatted) source which contains this nauseating bit of puffery: "The film has people from different parts of the country flocking to theatres to watch the much-talked about high-octane action sequences and revolutionizing outfits designed by the popular Guruji himself. It has been released in five different languages - Tamil, Telegu, Kannada, English and Hindi, so that the great saint can spread his message of love and inspire the masses to follow his preachings. Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insaan is truly a living inspiration for the youth of today. With his rockstar avatar and catchy songs that inspire the generation, this messenger of God is surely winning over hearts day after day." --NeilN talk to me 19:44, 23 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah... The box-office take is the stuff of satire, not actual news. If nothing else, can we just leave out the box-office gross altogether until a definitive source can be found? Grayfell (talk) 20:37, 23 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Agree with that. --NeilN talk to me 20:39, 23 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. It needs to be updated. Bollywood Hungama says that the 1st week collection was Rs.9.92 crores, which is more likely. Even Box Office India supports the same figure. Can an admin change the figure? Shovon (talk) 09:28, 25 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Since protection has expired, I have changed it to "disputed". Sources are reporting three different sets of box-office numbers. 9.2 crore, 89 crore, and 100+ crore. If someone can find a source that explains the disparity, that would be great. I would be fine with the lower number, but since it is legitimately disputed at least let's not imply otherwise. I keep coming across non-Indian references to "reports in India" that Ram Rahim has been buying up blocks of tickets to boost numbers, such as this one, but I can't find these reports themselves. If anyone finds sources for this that would be nice. If they turn out to be unreliable, that's fine too, I would just like to know where this is coming from.
