The user who did this didn't reply here, but they resolved it by adding an archive.org link. The document is viewable again. --Reedside (talk) 18:06, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Credibility?[edit]

Does anyone know the creditability of Thomas's book?, I can't any information outside of it. (Kelis98 (talk) 01:50, 22 January 2018 (UTC))[reply]

I have exactly same question, in that whole pargraph: one of the links is referring to mysteriousuniverse.org, which I doubt is credible source of information (and the page itself points to Thomas's book), the other is Thomas Gordon book. --GiM (talk) 21:29, 30 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Coming back here a few years later, this definitely is an issue. In addition to these two cyclical references; the beginning itself is referencing a Targeted Individuals website; wikipedia itself says this is likely uncredible at best. While the CIA having a mage detachment is incredibly funny, this seems to definitely be an issue - one, so far, not addressed. ConnieC420 (talk) 05:25, 1 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

IMO only the document released through FOIA is worth the ref, and it doesn't say anything about wizards. I'll look for more reliable sources presently. --Reedside (talk) 18:06, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, I'm back. The sources and their statements that I removed came from a "targeted individuals" site (not credible by its nature), a dead site, a book I wasn't able to verify the reliability of, and a site citing that book. I would like to examine the book further, but being that I couldn't find any other sources about MKOFTEN's CIA mage detachment, I think it is fair to leave it off the article for now, even if accompanied by the phrase "there have been allegations." Now I wonder, since the larger project MKSEARCH is a redirect to MKULTRA, if this would be better as a small section of the MKULTRA article, per WP:ONESOURCE. --Reedside (talk) 20:51, 10 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
