Naming[edit]

The article title should be decapitalised, so moved to either Māori land march 1975 or 1975 Māori land march. I think placing the year at the beginning of the title is our usual practice. A case might be made that no year is necessary as no other Māori land march has been as significant.-gadfium 00:51, 16 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the tidy up @Gadfium: - i was aiming for 1975 Māori Land March but it kept redirecting me to the general Māori protest movement page so i put the year at the end. Was surprised this event didn't have it's own page previously. Will add more when i find more secondary sources. MagicPie97 (talk) 01:07, 16 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I've moved it to 1975 Māori land march, which seems the most appropriate. I've also re-pointed the redirect at 1975 Maori Land March so that it now leads to this page. Grutness...wha? 02:05, 16 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Unoriginal text[edit]

The "the march" section (or at least the first half) is blatantly copied directly off the NZ History website, word for word. Should we do something about this? Kika.txt (talk) 22:29, 21 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Kika.txt: you made this comment a while ago, but yes I absolutely agree. Not just NZH, but there were also paragraphs copied from this source. I am rewriting some of the more egregious paragraphs, and will try to do a bit more on the page over the coming weeks as I think it needs attention (particularly given the recent release of Whina).
