Team

The Team MÄR section seems to need work -- its English is substandard. I don't blame the contributor (who seems to be anonymous anyway), especially because it looks like it was just badly translated. Translation is an unusual skill, and I salute his willingness to contribute. Just the same, everyone try and fix significant grammar problems--they impair understanding.

BTW, I'm not really a grammar Nazi, I just take the insignia from their corpses.

YhnMzw 01:11, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

Seriously, anyone can write. Show us you can think, too! I guess anyone that reads the talk pages would, though... YhnMzw 08:48, 4 May 2006 (UTC)

From what I understand, Danna is the equivalent of Boss. It's not his actual name. If this is untrue, someone can put it back. Otherwise, I'm taking that out.

There. I went through and corrected grammar and style throughout pretty much the entire page, and removed some of the more unnecessary fluff. I mean, do we really need descriptions of every ÄRM used by even the most trivial of villains? And there was a section entirely for pawns, when there's only even one of them... Time consuming, but the article really needed it. More work still needs to be done, so none of the tags have been removed. Stylish Alastor the Stylish 21:36, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

ÄRM

Not that I know anything about this series, but I remember looking through one of my brother's Japanese guide books for this series and I saw that it is pronounced aamu in Japanese as opposed to "air-um" as the dub would suggest. Am I correct? Because the statement concerning the pronunciation in the article should be altered, then.

Chibi Gohan 01:54, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

It's actually pronounced "airm". - The Norse 03:22, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

Whatever, the article says "air-um" so I quoted that, but anyway, the Japanese pronunciation of aamu seems to suggest that in English it would be pronounced like the word "arm." Chibi Gohan 13:01, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

Hey, if its got those two fancy dots on top of the A (Ä) then its pronounced "airm"Atomic45 07:49, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

"Airm" and "Air-um" are far to similiar in pronunciation to create a distinct line between the two. And also, the Japanese pronounce the term ARM as airm-u. "u" added to the end of a japanese word is a common ending relating to a place or thing. The Japanese say the the exact same pronunciations, only with differing accents. Mar Omega

Should there be a seperate page for Mar Omega? Zetsui 00:26, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

....i think we'd better wait for more information. whoever is updating this article now clearly needs patience. we don't even know the storyline or plot.

Split?

Maybe we should split this article into several? Matty-chan 05:13, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

perhaps not. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Profet 666 (talkcontribs) .
Perhaps yes. This article is too long and the character sections are a mess of bullet points and lists, seperate articles for Team MAR/The Chess Pieces should be made. - The Norse 20:48, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

i thought of that too, but then we would have to go through the characters' past/personality, which were not thoroughly developed, leaving us nothing to write about save for those said in the anime.

and another thing i'd like people who contribute to this article to take notice of. again i have to repeat (as this continues to take place), your work is highly appreciated, but before adding information, PLEASE, look through the WHOLE article to see if that info has already been added or not (it can be found in other parts, but the same anyway). If it hasn't, feel free to add, but if it has, DON'T. It's thanks to that kind of contribution that this MAR article has been a big mess for quite some times. Thanks for reading. Profet 666 13:31, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

I have a better idea. Why not just make a list of characters article? Matty-chan 18:56, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

....you sure there are THAT much thing to talk on each of the characters ? in the end it will have to involve the anime...which has been raising disapproval lately, due to its shounen ai fan-service Profet 666 00:46, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

That's not what I meant. I mean if we just cut and paste all character info from this article and made a seperate article with like "Characters featured in MÄR" as the title, and like for the character section one of those "Main article" things, I think it would be a good idea. We don't need to give each character his/her own article, and that page is the longest section in the article... So I think it would work. Matty-chan 19:41, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

oh, got it...Profet 666 01:47, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

Perfect. I couldn't've done any better myself (I originally didn't think of giving the Chess Pieces and Team MAR seperate articles) Matty-chan 07:43, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

Yar. I decided to put them in seperate articles because the Chess Pieces have way too many ranks and members to make a good listing mixed with Team MAR, it would've been a huge mess of headings and bullets like the section was here. - The Norse 04:58, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

Shouldn't this article and all the character articles have a couple of pictures? I used this article when I first started reading the manga to help me figure out who the characters were. It would have been a lot easier with some pictures... And what about a minor characters article too?. It would make this article a lot shorter. Kanotari 20:45, 08 January 2007 (UTC)

then use real high quality ones, and beatiful ones too. i don't think it's that hard to find. and whoever made the Pawn section for Gido, please don't bother making that again. she already has her article in the Other Characters section >__> Profet 666 12:04, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Nah, we might as well move Gido to the Chess Pieces article because she is a Chess Piece. Also, someone should add copyright tags to all those pictures so they can be re-added to the article. - The Norse 20:08, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Babbo

he's a kendama, right? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.73.48.43 (talk) 03:44, 14 January 2007 (UTC).

Actually, Babbo is just an ÄRM that RESEMBLES a kendama.Atomic45 07:44, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

Minor Fix + Request

fixed a minor problem(Missing parenthesis) and request that if anyone has some links to a MAR site that has a background on the entire series as well as a site that has a good picture gallery. --Added by SSLRranma at 8:47pm EST/GMT -5

Several skipped episodes on Toonami

  • What the hell is Toonami doing with MAR!? First they show the first episode, the they skip to ep. 5, then 7, and now 12! This is insane. How am I supposed to get in to the show if they keep skipping episodes!? I can't belive they replaced Bobobo for this! Kid Sonic

That's why they got rid if bobobo-bobo-bobo?

Bobobo is making a return later this year along with Zatch Bell(I think they'll stop showing it around episode 78 or so). - The Norse 19:35, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
  • i thought there was something fishy when characters appeared out of no where!-hotspot

Wikipedia is not a soapbox. Please limit your discussion to the article, not the article's subject. Matty-chan 17:21, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

Irony~~ Mind your business, plz. - The Norse 04:58, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

Matty's got his/her point. anyway while we're at it, could anyone used to wikipedia help me upload some pictures for the article ? i read the image policy, yes, but it drives me mad Profet 666 09:20, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

Whoa, what the heck happened to all the pics in the Team MÄR article? - The Norse 21:57, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

they got deleted, i think there was a warning, you didn't notice ? that's why i'm asking for some image uploading instruction from an experienced wiki-writer Profet 666 03:48, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

Ack. I think I know which admin did it, he's a real nazi about images for some reason. Rehost the same and hope for the best, as there was nothing wrong with the way they were. - The Norse 05:50, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

whatever, that's what his position as administrator requires anyway. again i ask: can anyone help me ? or at least simplify the process...Profet 666 10:52, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

Hey,Hey,Hey, Are you guys changing the subject?! What does this have to do with skipped episodes on toonami?!Atomic45 07:55, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

We have to change the subject. Wikipedia is not a soapbox and this place is for discussing the article itself, not the article's subject. Matty-chan 12:18, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

Although you may think otherwise, the following statement relates to the article. As it is mentioned in the article, it is said on toonami they have re-began the series on toonami in correct order. However, as of ten minutes before writing this, toonami once again switched from episode 2 to episode 5, as it had done the first time. It is a major flaw in the article. On a side note, the original skipping of episodes was in purpose to test ratings and see if MAR was worthy of the time slot, as toonami already owns the rights to play over 5 other anime shows, such as Haruhi and Ouran. Anonymous 10:10, 24 March 2005 (UTC)

Not exactly. It may mention that in the article, but the way it started just looked like a guy asking a question. "What the hell is Toonami doing with MAR!?" looks like something he asked after seeing it on his TV. If it were "Is it true that Toonami is doing this with MAR?" after reading it on the article or thinking it was just his area and wanting to add it, meaning he wasn't thinking about the article. Oh, and btw, I'm a boy, and we are not going to continue talking about that. Matty-chan 00:55, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

  • Anyway, when's the show coming back to CN? --Kid Sonic (talk) 22:02, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

MÄR: Märchen Awakens Romance - Chapter of Cravea. What is it?

I haven't heard much about this? What exactly is it? Is it just the 3rd season to MAR? A sequel tv series? And as for the time it's released, i've looked on the web and is that november for 2006 or 2007 because it could just be delayed. Zackd06 (talkcontribs) 01:33, 13 February 2007 (UTC).

  • shrugs* no idea... perhaps it's the 3rd season. Profet 666 06:37, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

Beast ÄRM?

Is there really such thing as the Beast ÄRM mentioned in this article? I haven't heard of any character in the series who uses them.Zackd06 (talk

Me either, but I haven't seen the anime. Maybe it's filler. - The Norse 02:13, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

as far as i'm concerned, there's no such thing as 'Beast ÄRM' in both anime/manga. the game, perhaps ? then it'd be much appreciated if someone can confirm this.

and the Chess Pieces article appears to have some problem. i'm not quite familiar with this, so if you have time please check on it. Profet 666 07:11, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

I believe that whoever mentioned Beast ÄRM is probably meaning the Summon ÄRM. It seems logical that way... I can't think of any other ÄRM that would fit as a Beast ÄRM. Tsukiyume1209 (talk) 05:26, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Filler or not ?

This question is for MÄR raws leechers only. The 1st main part of MÄR's 3rd season, Chapter of Cravea (from about episode 85-86 to around 92-93), was it qualified as fillers ? If you're uncertain what part i'm talking about, it's the episodes presenting the Ghost Chess and the awakening of the character Alviss' Zombie Tattoo, ended where this character returned to his team. Profet 666 07:25, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

if it's a filler arc, perhaps i will skip its summary - if there ever needs be a summary. not that i understand any of it, or its purpose, anyway. and if one ever makes a summary, please don't count any of its material as real until we can be sure about its content. and if you do, please be so kind as to report it here. Profet 666 05:40, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

People need to start differentiating between the anime and manga

As some know, after a point the anime goes off on it's own story that's entirely different from the manga's. Also, a lot of characters that die in the anime don't in the manga, which is causing some minor conflict on the character pages. This could be terribly confusing for anyone trying to look into the characters and plot. - The Norse 01:49, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

don't worry about that, any changes will be updated in each character's sections as soon as the anime concludes (as i need to make sure some die for REAL). any more discussion about this i'd like to make it after that. Profet 666 07:12, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Episode lists

i'm going to make an episodes list, and i'm also thinking of making a story akts article (the War Game part will be included), but it will take time as my IP address is blocked and i'm not writing this on my PC.

I'm going to make the story akts article.... let's see... have 4 parts ? 1. Ginta's entrance into MAR-Heaven & The MAR-Heaven war 2. War Game, prologue and battles 3. Klavier akt and 4. King akt.

Any objection ? Profet 666 03:50, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

Images

I'd like you who have uploaded the images for these following characters - Loco, Chaton, Pano, Kannochi for the Chess Pieces article and John Peach for the Minor characters article - as well as you who have the intention to repeat the deed, to cancel your act right now. First, it's because I do remember I've put a fair use tag to it (which states ANY USAGE OF THE IMAGE OUTSIDE THE ARTICLE, EVEN ON WIKIPEDIA, WOULD BE CONSIDERED COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT). Second, I've personally requested permission from the authors of these images to use it at my will, and my will excludes the use of them without asking me. It's unbecoming of you to not upload them for the Episode list article in my stead when I called for your aids, then in my absence you just use them as if you own them. If you ever just take your time to consider why I haven't had any images for the characters you just so blatantly provided some, it's because they're all minor characters. Some of them do have influence, all right, but not so much that I have to picture them. Should you happen to have better reasons for this, state it here and I will consider this. As I, (hopefully) like (most) of you, am here to contribute to the serie article anything we have at our disposal.

(Do forgive me if I've wrongly accused you, as I just delete all the images the moment I see them outside the Episode list article, so I didn't really check it. Correct me where you see me wrong, but truth be told I can't help it, given instead of using an image of the regularly seen 6-year-old Loco for her section, you use the image I have in the Episode article, the 22-year-old one.)

. Why would you ask ? Profet 666 04:46, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

Please stay on-topic. No discussion of the article's subject. Matty-chan 05:41, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

Oh, I asked because I don't watch M.Ä.R too often, and I wanted to know if she was good or bad. Atomic45 23:08, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

That's what fan forums and stuff are for. Matty-chan 00:52, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

Outside links

Ummm... why is there a link to a RP forum? Sure, it has a MÄR themed RP, but... it's not even a large site.

I have now removed the link. DaniDaniDanica 21:30, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Marcast.jpg

Image:Marcast.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:18, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Trivia section

I've edited and move whatever contents there were in the main page's Trivia section to appropriate pages (didn't log in, but still me). There's no need to have one in the main page any longer. Profet 666 02:59, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Manga Page

Waht happened to the page that listed the manga? Was it deleted?

Main characters

I think we should do like what Bleach (manga) did and list character that the editors consider main. We should, however, make qualifications for such. They could be as simple as "be a member of Team MÄR", but I for one think that if we call Alan or Babbo a main character, we should certainly call Phantom one, and others, like Ian, Rolan, Loco, Diana, and others are just as important as they are. Thus, I suggest we do otherwise. I think that good qualifications for those outside Ginta are:

  • Strong connection to Ginta Toramizu
  • Constant importance from an early introduction to the end of the series
  • Must have been in a lot of fights, this includes flashbacks. Also, any fight that has a major affect on the series counts as two fights for fairness, as it seems odd how Dorothy's fight with Avrute is on par with that of Ginta and Phantom, the longest in the series.
  • Must have a major contribution to Team MÄR's progress through the series

Thus, we can be fair rather than block out most of the cast. Artist Formerly Known As Whocares 23:20, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
