Old News[edit]

I was pointed to this article by a friend and can only say that this tracklisting cannot be correct. Lupe Fiasco said on FNF Radio, that only 6 tracks from the leaked advance of the album are going to make the final cut. Source
Also the tracklisting of the Advance is this:
01 Intro
02 You My
03 Ghetto Story
04 Spaze Out
05 Just Might Be Okay
06 Trials And Tribulations
07 Make Sure
08 Real Recognize Real
09 Hustlaz Song
10 Never Lies
12 No Place To Go
14 Game Time
15 Kick Push
16 Failure
17 Slow Down
18 Close Your Mind
So it evident that with this as the foundation for the article there would be 18 tracks in total. I realise that this is only 15. 11,13 and 16 are missing and as of yet unknown.

I think it would in general be important that Lupe was thinking of giving up when he first heard abut the leak, but he's not pushing it back after all. Godwilling on June 27th. Lupe also said it's been 5 years of work. If that means five years on the album or just 5 years to get this far is open for interpretation.

Where these two track names came from I have no idea. After all there are no sources given:
Today is the Day
Mo-Fo, MOO...that is the sound a cow makes

Some of the producers are to include Mike Shinoda, Jay-Z and Needlz. Not sure how true that is. Just street buzz.

That's all I got to complain about. I probably won't ever check back.

MJ, the one the only.

Language[edit]

Does the album have any uncensored profanity/swearing?

American terrorist! Derr!!!!!! Why hasn't the FBI knocked on his door? Why hasn't there been controversy over this?

New Information[edit]

As this video source provides:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lxReQnp8Aw
The track "Intro" is actually called "Theme Music To A Drive By" and "No Place To Go" is called "Hurts Me So".
Also another track is featured: "He Said She Said"
Now Lupe said himself only about 6 tracks were making it from the advance on the album. We now know those 3 and "Kick Push" as well as "Just Might Be Okay" (both on Promo Vinyl). "Ghetto Story" also known as "Steady Mobbin" is well known, so it might be included. Also "Hustlaz Song" may be on the final, but it's also old.
The current listing is from the advance and therefore not proper, but only an estimation. I think we should remove everything except the songs I mentiones. Needlz and Pro are also producing for this album. Needlz produced "Theme Music To A Drive By" and Pro "Hurts Me So".
Just trying to help out.

MJ, the one the only.
P.S.: I left away the "~" because it publicly displays my IP. The wikipedia owners, admins, mods whatever may knwo, but not everyone who comes by here.

No Pattern[edit]

Put in a sentence about the cover's design done by No Pattern. Proof at Source-- Cracksells

I removed the redundancy (check the history and you'll see what I mean)--NPswimdude500 19:44, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Title[edit]

is it Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor or Food & Liquor. he refers to it as Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor. --Jaysscholar 01:22, 27 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I believe the album is officially titled Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor. Personally, I refer to it as Food & Liquor because so far, it is the only album titled Food & Liquor (it needs no disambiguation)
Officially it is "Lupe Fiasco's...", I concur. But I don't see a reason why we aren't referring to the album by its full official name. Granted, disambiguation is not needed, but that's not really an issue, because if it was needed, it would be named "Food and Liquor (Lupe Fiasco album)". And for the sake of moot arguments, if you listen to his intro, he explains the concept of what food and liquor represents, and calling the album his "food and liquor" has different meaning than just stating "food and liquor." hateless 23:29, 17 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Billboard 200 debut[edit]

The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, due a a mistake made my soundscan it appeared to have entered at #8 and Billboard addressed the issue in its website.

wheres your source for this??? i checked the billboard website and there is no article stating this. in fact, food and liquor remains unchanged in its billboard debut (which IS at number 8). ive checked for any sources vouching for this and i couldnt find any. cite your source if you want it to stay there.

Production Credits for "I Gotcha"[edit]

The single "I Gotcha" is produced by The Neptunes, not just Pharrell. The albums liner notes states this matter-of-factly. The last verse of the song is also evidence enough:

"And so to sign off, this beat I rhyme off Is from the Thelonious P and Hugo Mind Boss"

Pro Reviews[edit]

I think that this album has the biggest list of reviews on wikipedia even more than Hell Hath No Fury or Sea Change, Good Job Folks --Szayat 18:30, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Updated to 26 Pro Review--Szayat 18:45, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Updated to 28 Pro Review. I'm thinking of reformating the 10 stars system to 5 stars, Its much easyer on the eyes.--Szayat 19:03, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Updated the list to 32 Reviews, How Happy I am!--Szayat 19:44, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I went through and fixed all the ratings to the proper rating formats. Although there are no specific rating guidelines, it's generally good form to stay as true to the original source as possible (that means using {{rating-10|}} where the ratings are out of ten, and not converting to 5-scale). Also, the template is not sensitive enough to detect increments of .1 or .05. So if an album is rated 7.9/10, you'll need to put (7.9/10). Rounding is not a viable method either. Excellent work compiling the reviews though! I'm thoroughly impressed!--NPswimdude500 03:22, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
