Lugaw was considered essential by the Philippine government[edit]

This claim may need a reference aside from the viral video. This article has become a "meme" here in the Philippines instead of viewing this as a source of information. I guess another source to support this claim may help. This is only a suggestion. I don't suggest the removal of the statement, or at least paraphrase this statement "lugaw was considered essential by the Philippine government". Thank you.

I've just found a reference that I guess supports the initial claim but on my understanding, it's still an argumented statement:https://www.philstar.com/headlines/2021/04/01/2088499/lugaw-essential-commodity-palace — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kunokuno (talkcontribs) 03:34, 1 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Kunokuno: I've added that incident under the section "In popular culture" (though you may want to change the subheading if it not fits). I used the news articles of ABS-CBN, Inquirer, and GMA's Balitambayan as sources. You are free to edit the section and add more sources if necessary.
