Usual spelling of this king's name[edit]

Lugalzagesi is the normal spelling in English academic literature, it shouldn't be a redirect. Doug Weller (talk) 20:26, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The morphemes should technically be hyphenated "Lugal-zage-si", but should not be capitalized, as in this title.

I have no preference. We can move this to Lugalzagesi or Lugal-zage-si. There is no universal standard on how to spell these names, and so far, Wikipedia doesn't have a prescriptive Sumerian MoS. It may be worthwhile to attempt some on-wiki standardization some time in this respect. dab (𒁳) 10:12, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've added Lugalzaggesi to the article as that seems to turn up more useful sources. Doug Weller (talk) 18:25, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

When?[edit]

Lugal-zage-si ruled about a century before Sargon according to this article, and yet somehow was defeated by him. Being defeated by Sargon seems to very clearly put his rule somewhere in the middle of the 23rd century, so what are the reasons for believing his rule was 2358 - 2334? On the Middle Chronology, Sargon ruled c. 2334–2279 BC, so I don't see the issue. Furius (talk) 09:57, 3 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
