Don’t misgender her, she’s a woman. Just because she is trans does not make her a woman. Gatorbearratica (talk) 01:39, 4 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Portrait of Lucy Hicks Anderson[edit]

Hi, I recently added a portrait of the subject to the page but I think it may have been reverted in the past by @Zaathras. To me, this looks like art created by someone who was trying to add images to unknown women. I guess I'm wondering how to determine if a portrait is worthy or not? Since there are no other available photographs, what would be more appropriate (beside just leaving it blank)? Thank you! Just trying to learn! JaneClawsten (talk) 13:46, 13 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It is a caricature, not a realistic portrait. Of all the types of drawn images representing biographical subjects, the caricature style has received the most opposition. Discussions have been held at Wikipedia:No_original_research/Noticeboard/Archive_49#Cartoon_portraits and Wikipedia_talk:Biographies_of_living_persons#Les_sans_images.
