Requested move 18 April 2016[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: moved to Low Yow Chuan, name of subject of the article. Tan Sri Low Yat, his father and founder of the group, left as redlink; if an article is created for him, suitable disambiguation will be required for the company and the plaza. — JohnCD (talk) 09:41, 28 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Tan Sri Low YatLow Yat – As per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (names and titles) Alexander Iskandar (talk) 14:27, 18 April 2016 (UTC) Alexander Iskandar (talk) 14:27, 18 April 2016 (UTC) --Relisted.  — Amakuru (talk) 09:57, 26 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Low Yat currently redirects to Low Yat Plaza. Are you suggesting that this is better know as Low Yat than the plaza because if not we will need to amend the request?--76.65.41.126 (talk) 00:35, 19 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment Low Yat Plaza states that the name of the business group is "Low Yat", shouldn't that be the topic that occupies the base name? -- 70.51.45.100 (talk) 06:25, 19 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment Low Yat is the name of individual. Low Yat Plaza is named after Tan Sri Low Yat. Just like Abdul Razak Hussein.. Many buildings, places are named after him, (example: Bandar Tun Razak, Jalan Tun Razak, Sekolah Tun Razak and so on). Alexander Iskandar (talk) 14:53, 19 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per WP:TITLESINTITLES. Even if the plaza is better known, it is still named after the individual and has the word "Plaza" in its title to disambiguate. Timmyshin (talk) 00:47, 24 April 2016 (UTC) Actually, after clicking on the only link in the article, it seems that the person's name is actually Tan Sri Low Yow Chuan not Tan Sri Low Yat. "Low Yat" is the name of his company. Move to Low Yow Chuan instead. Timmyshin (talk) 01:39, 24 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
