Ring name for article title?[edit]

Why is this page not "Brandon Silvestry"? It's "Phil Brooks" and not "CM Punk," it's "Joe Seanoa" and not "Samoa Joe," (or at least it was) it's "Nelson Erazo" and not "Homicide (wrestler)" Just a thought. Tromboneguy0186 09:47, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

See here --- Paulley

What about now, that he has another notable ring name? Tromboneguy0186 06:35, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Could somebody explain what "his idiosyncratic, William Shatner-like speaking style" means? I can't recall hearing many interviews with William Shatner but he didn't sound particularly idiosyncratic to me. Does it mean William Shatner's spoken word style on musical recordings? Captain Kirk? Rescue 911? I have never seen Low Ki/Senshi talk and I just cannot imagine him sounding like Mr Shatner in any way. Help me out here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.31.128.137 (talkcontribs)

Did a little cut & paste to create a section on Japan and move it to the bottom instead of being part of the initial biography. It sounded like he started his career in Zero-ONE and won his first ever singles title there.DaClyde 20:28, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Better Picture[edit]

I propose a better picture with higher quality. The current picture in the infobox is low quality. Mr. C.C. 23:45, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Senshi released by TNA[edit]

Today, TNA President Dixie Carter held a meeting with all the talent in TNA. Carter said that anyone who wanted a release would be granted one. Senshi was the only one to take her up on the offer. Since Senshi won one of the briefcases at Turning Point, he'll probably open the case with the pink slip on IMPACT! this Thursday. Source: http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/2007_/articles/1196716004.php Milkman519 00:39, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Whether or not that's true, it's not verified by a reliable source (AKA Silvestry or TNA). So really, I don't think it should be in the article yet. Hezekiah957 03:14, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Had to remove the parts about him losing the case and what the case contains as those happen over the next two weeks and are still spoilers at this time. Also Senshi is booked on House Shows JUST announced so this could still all be a worked shoot.--Dezza2001 (talk) 18:50, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

To be honest, I see no reason for mention to be made of his alleged release from the company, as (based on spoilers and the house shows), he is still active in the company. I don't want to just go ahead and remove it right now, as I'm sure there are others who disagree. So, make yourselves heard so we can discuss this, please? Hezekiah957 (talk) 16:59, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
What house shows? Here is TNA's own list of upcoming house shows as of December 6, and there is no mention of Senshi appearing on any of them. Nenog (talk) 04:31, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
For the life of me, I can't find where I read that. I'm inclined to think it was somewhere on Wiki, but I just can't find it... however, my stance still remains: he should be listed as an active member of the TNA roster, as he has been performing as such. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hezekiah957 (talkcontribs) 04:44, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

He's appeared at at least three Impact tapings since the supposed release. I can see one to finish your angles (especially as he had a briefcase), but three makes it seem like he's not leaving. For the time being, we need to err on the side of him still being employed by TNA until it becomes abundantly clear (and verifiable!) that he's not. Tromboneguy0186 (talk) 15:21, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Suicide[edit]

If you do a search for the TNA wrestler Suicide, it says Low Ki is playing Suicide. The article, however, states nothing about Suicide other than some signature moves that have the word "suicide" in them. Shouldn't the article state something about it? --BrettxPW (talk) 03:29, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Google search says its Frankie Kazarian. Nenog (talk) 04:32, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

At a recent FCW taping it was stated that Silverstry is out with a knee injury and it's not known when he'll return. Should someone mention this on his page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.223.127.79 (talk) 02:46, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think so too. He has been out for ages, Someone should mention about his more rounded style of wrestling now that he is a bit older. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.107.139.122 (talk) 17:31, 31 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Silvestry returned to the ring in FCW on November 20, 2009. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.219.23.74 (talk) 04:02, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Present Injury?[edit]

What is Kaval's current injury? Do they know how long he'll be out? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.219.159.48 (talk) 14:34, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I was thinking of changing this page to his WWE ringname since he won NXT last night. Does anybody else agree with me?--Mikeymike2001 (talk) 21:40, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. I don't believe Kaval is his most common name. ♥NiciVampireHeart♥ 07:10, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I figured it should be changed to Kaval (wrestler) because most people didn't see him as Low Ki enough. But he became known worldwide as Kaval. Plus, he won the second season of NXT, so that should count as a win in the WWE.--Mikeymike2001 (talk) 16:40, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Disagree. He used this ring name only in WWE, whereas he has wrestle as Low Ki in Japan, TNA, and ROH. Jeangabin (talk) 19:08, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I find that he is more well known as Low Ki, not Kaval. Though he shouldn't be moved to either name. --☯The Dark Lord of Wiki(talk) 19:34, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dont edit it until the guy is done jobbing every week. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.137.220.59 (talk) 19:21, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I moved the page back. Someone had moved it to Kaval (wrestler) unilaterally, but no consensus has been established to do so. --Jtalledo (talk) 19:42, 15 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
There was consensus on the WP:PW talk page.--Mikeymike2001 (talk) 19:50, 15 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
As far as I can see, there wasn't. I assume you're talking about this discussion, which wasn't a formal move proposal. Feedback decided to be bold and move them without establishing consensus first. In any case, if there was a move proposal involving this article over at WP:PW, there should at least be a notice on this article's talk page. --Jtalledo (talk) 20:58, 15 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Released[edit]

He was just released source wwe.com and wwe mobile --97.100.146.210 (talk) 21:56, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Added with source. Necessary adjustments made to the article. Thanks, NiciVampireHeart 22:12, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hate to say I told you so, but hey, look what happened. Now he's back to using Lowki as his ring name. This is precisely why moving wrestler articles under their WWE names should never be done in haste. --Jtalledo (talk)
I'm going to move him back to Kaval. It doesn't matter if he's using Low Ki as his ringname. He is more notable under Kaval because people know him as Kaval. And even if someone wants to make an argument for Low Ki being the commonname, the article's current location is BRANDON SILVESTRY which is obviously not the commonname. I'm moving it back. If you want "Low Ki", create a move discussion, but "Brandon Silvestry" is definitely not it. Feedback 01:06, 1 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You say people know him as Kaval. Well, people know him as Lowki as well, Feedback. I suppose you mean that he's more well known as Kaval, but moving it without consensus is totally wrong. There was already a debate going about what name to move his article to - arguments that were ignored. There wasn't even a note on this talk page that there was a brief, informal discussion going on at WP:PW. The only reason I moved it back to Brandon Silvestry was because that's the name the article was under before you moved it. --Jtalledo (talk) 02:06, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I recall a consensus over at WP:PW for moving to Kaval, and the fact is that any other notable name that isn't the most COMMON name is completely irrelevant. Ownership of the name is also irrelevant. Hardly anyone owns their ring names in WWE or TNA. Mr. Kennedy is under that name and he doesn't own it. The fact is that he is most recognized under that name because he used it in WWE. WWE's exposure is more than triple TNA's and more than 10x the independent scene. You obviously don't have a grasp on WP:COMMONNAME & WP:STAGENAME. You should read them, and understand them before commenting. Feedback 04:20, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I have a full grasp of both policies. But where's your proof that's he's better known under that name? You're the one making the claim here that he should have been moved from Brandon Silvestry to Kaval. He's wrestled for a considerable time under two other names, whereas he used Kaval for a shorter period of time. The fact is, you've totally ignored establishing consensus. --Jtalledo (talk) 12:25, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The article was at Kaval because the consensus was to keep it there. It was moved a few weeks back WITHOUT CONSENSUS. The consensus between WP:PW is that all wrestlers should go under their WWE stagenames, because WWE has a bigger fanbase than TNA, ROH, CZW or any of the others. The only exceptions are people like Dos Caras Jr. who are mega stars in other countries. Kaval isn't a megastar anywhere, just a top indie talent with stints in both TNA and WWE. You're making this much more difficult than what it is. WWE stage name > any other one. That's it. Feedback 13:16, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
So let me get this straight. HHH Pedrigree proposed a move on WT:PW, was told to come here and you closed his move almost immediately. But you moved the page after a very short discussion on WT:PW without linking to that WikiProject discussion on this page where it belonged. That makes no sense. --Jtalledo (talk) 13:22, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Silvestry was fired, so he can't use the name of Kaval, because it is owned by WWE. He will use again the name of Low Ki and used Kaval only 6 months in national TV. Also, under Low Ki name won a lot of championships around the world, as Kaval, only the seasos 2 od NXT and FCW Tag Team Title (1 day regin). I think that is better change the name of the article to Brandon SIlvestry or Low Ki.--HHH Pedrigree (talk) 21:44, 1 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Support moving the article to Low Ki. If it's okay with you, I'll change the section heading to reflect moving it to Low Ki.--Jtalledo (talk) 02:08, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the move request was: page moved to Low Ki. Deacon of Pndapetzim (Talk) 12:36, 22 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Kaval (wrestler)Low Ki — This is the subject's currently used stage name, commonly used for several years. I'm having this listed because the move is controversial as this article has been moved several times already. ----Jtalledo (talk) 12:15, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Support. I understand that the article was changed to Kaval when he started in WWE, but he won't use the name of Kaval. He was fired. He used the name of Low Ki near 10 years around the world, as Kaval only 2 years (1 year 6 months in Florida, 6 month in national TV). Also, as Low Ki won 33 championships and accomplishments; as Kaval, 2. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 00:14, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. Wrestled the majority of his career as 'Low Ki', both in the US and Japan. By far the more common name imo. NiciVampireHeart 09:14, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. Few 100k people will recognize him as "Low Ki", about 5x whatever that amount is will recognize him as "Senshi" and about 10 or 15x that amount will recognize him as "Kaval". The fact of the matter is that WWE gave him the national exposure none of those other places (especially Ring of Honor that has less than 400k fans) could give him. On WWE television, he was seen by millions of people throughout the world and NXT, which was a show he WON, was viewed by more people than Ring of Honor on HDNET and TNA Impact combined. Read the ratings information, its all there. No matter what, if the average American saw Kaval on the street and knew who he was, they'd say "Look, that's Kaval!" Feedback 19:54, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • 6 months in WWE (Kaval) > 10 years around the world (as Low Ki) ? Maybe, if somebody saw Kaval on the street and knew who he was, he'll say "Look, that's Low Ki"--HHH Pedrigree (talk) 21:45, 4 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No doubt, some people, like you and I know him as Low Ki. We also know him as Silvestry. But the average reader will know him as Kaval, plain and simple. It's WP:COMMONNAME at it's finest. Feedback 23:21, 4 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. I support the move back to either Brandon Silvestry or Low Ki, considering that's the name he's now using again. As far as somebody looking for him using the Kaval name, that's why we have re-directs or disambiguation pages. WWE employment or recognition is not the be all end all reason for naming articles based on wrestlers. Sean Waltman has wrestled for WCW, WWF/E and TNA under several different names yet his article remains under his actual name with redirects set up for those that search for those ring names.
