Untitled[edit]

Has alumni but only recent ones. This is a very old school (but no ref for their claim). References would get this a B, completing the alumni with refs would improve too. Welcome Victuallers 11:52, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cincinnati Woodward is the oldest public high school west of the Allegheny Mountains, founded on October 24, 1831.

Alumni[edit]

Should there be a separate list of Male alumni in professional sports? Someone who knows more about Kentucky history than I should go through this list and make a judgement as to who is notable. --Nufftin 20:04, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Taken from body of article:

This motto shows disrepect for non-montheistic students, faculty, and family members, not to mention violative of an important constitutional principle. However, Male's primary concern is not to respect individual students and ensure their success in a pluralistic society, but to impose its narrow views on all who pass through the school.

The age of the school is easily verifiable in the Jefferson County, Kentucky county records. The school motto is very old, but it hasn't kept athiests or those who do not believe in only one Supreme Being from attending the school. LeCherie (talk) 17:17, 30 January 2008 (UTC) Cheri[reply]

Minor Edit 12/11/06[edit]

A bad link the the school's website was correct as were some sentences in which the flow of language wasn't very smooth. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by ExoSynth (talkcontribs) 20:48, 11 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

Sports Championships[edit]

I added the Sports Championships table if anyone has more info on district runner-ups, region runner-ups, district championships, region championships, state runner-ups or state championships fell free to add them or leave info here with ref. and I can add it. Dave Wilson[edit]

The source cited as a reference on the Dave Wilson matter seems to be a Canadian blog entitled "Weather Station 1". The title of the entry is "Today's Moron: Dave Wilson the Porno Party Principal". Does that really qualify as a reliable source? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.138.44.226 (talk) 01:33, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Removed copied-and-pasted content[edit]

I had to remove content was copied and pasted from other sites. Part of the lead was lifted from here. The "Early history" section was mostly lifted from here. It's possible there is more such content that needs to be removed. At any rate, the article still needs "Early history" content but it needs to be put in the writer's own words. Stevie is the man! Most of the "School locations" section was lifted from here. This has been removed as well. Stevie is the man! TalkWork 11:22, 26 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Why is it called Male?[edit]

I can't believe the school with such an unusual name as "Male" wouldn't have an explanation as to why in the article. I guess the locals are so used to it they don't even know it's unusual? Is "Male" someone's name, or was it once a school for Males only? And if its the latter, why wasn't that ever changed to be more inclusive? So many questions.
