SLIGHTLY BIASED?

I can't think of any positive or even unbiased uses of the word 'gushing'. Can the original author replace its use with something more objective? Is there some word that denotes, or possibly connotes, a Romantic author (like Ms. Collet perhaps although I've never read her) who displays emotion without shading it with a more discursive vein? Julian Barnes in Flaubert's Parrot (reading which led me to the Wikipedia article I'm commenting on here) describes her as 'a pest'. This article seems to present a similar opinion. It just seems Wikipedia should be slightly more balanced. Maybe in a hundred years opinions of her writing will improve?

Just a suggestion.

I agree with the preceding comment about the point of view the article seems to take. It seems to replicate Flaubert's opinions, especially following the end of their relationship. Some decent lit crit of her poetry independent of the opions of Flaubert (or Julian Barnes) seems on order. This is a poor article. 188.30.98.129 (talk) 18:34, 18 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
