Conflict of Interest Void[edit]

This article was written with a neutral voice with all references/sources being from scholarly publications. There are no personal opinions shared or used in the tone of this article nor is the information itself presented with bias. Perhaps it would be best to leave that assessment up to others who aren’t employees or otherwise connected to the museum like you seem to be. I’ve asked about this at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Museums so perhaps others will comment here. A bunch of content was recently removed from the article by another editor named Willbb234 for WP:NPOV and WP:NOTPROMOTION reasons; so, perhaps they will clarify.

When I first looked at the article, I felt some parts of it had a bit of a promotional tone and content, including some WP:PUFFERY and other phrasing that didn’t seem appropriate for Wikipedia. There appear to have been editors over the years who are/were connected to the museum working on the article. Their intentions might have been the best, but they really shouldn’t be directly editing the article as explained in WP:COIADVICE and WP:PSCOI#Steps for engagement. Their edits might also have been in violation of the Wikimedia Foundation’s meta:Terms of use as explained in WP:PAID. COI editing isn’t expressly prohibited by Wikipedia, but it’s highly discouraged because it can lead to serious problems. Undeclared paid editing, however, is prohibited and often leads to accounts being blocked by administrators. So, it might be a really good idea for you to take a look at meta:Terms of use/FAQ on paid contributions without disclosure to make sure none of what’s written there applies to you. — Marchjuly (talk) 21:21, 5 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I understand now after reading through the links you provided. I had not realized how much of an issue connections to an instiution could be, but I see how it makes sense. Hopefully editors from the WikiProject Museums will be able to edit/adjust the article to be appropriate to the Wiki standards. Thank you User: Marchjuly for your assistance. This article was clearly COI edited and included plenty of unsourced content, so I just took the most direct action and removed said content. What you say about "neutral voice" and "scholarly publications" is simply wrong. Please take a look at WP:NPOV and WP:V.
