This is seriously non NPOV. It is also factually wrong.

Conservatives joined to get the r"eflected glory of the man who won the war", the coalition was formed early in the war when Asquith not Lloyd George was Prime Minister

Conservatives 'championed free trade' nothing of the sort, their manifesto included tariff reform a Conservative/Unionist policy since 1903. Baldwin in fact fought -and lost- the 1923 election on a tariff reform platform
