Name[edit]

This institution is known by various names in published English sources: Ljubljana Medical Center, Ljubljana University Medical Center, or University Medical Center, Ljubljana (comma) or University Medical Center Ljubljana (no comma). Even though the formulation University Medical Centre Ljubljana also appears at the institution's website, this is syntactically highly irregular in English (equivalent to the ungrammatical Castle Bokalce or Park Tivoli), and serious thought should be given to whether to use the "official" (but obviously grammatically incorrect) form of the name, or whether to politely ignore it and use a grammatically correct English name instead (probably with a note "self-styled as University Medical Centre Ljubljana"). The most typical formulations would be Ljubljana (University) Medical Center or (University) Medical Center of Ljubljana. Doremo (talk) 12:35, 28 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've followed the Statute (Article 4) of the institution. It is important to keep the word university in the title. Priority seems to have been given to the form centre. I think the best form would be Ljubljana University Medical Centre (because the words follow each other like in Ljubljana Stock Exchange, Ljubljana Zoo, Ljubljana Cathedral, or Ljubljana Botanical Garden). --Eleassar my talk 14:07, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
