image misleading[edit]

The image of the liver has been flipped; Etruscan reads from right to left, and if you check out the drawing here (click on the page numbe link and scroll slightly up), you can see what the problem is. Cynwolfe (talk) 13:14, 3 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This turns out to be even more complicated. At Commons, the first image, a drawing, seems oriented correctly, and for the third the perspective is from the opposite side. However, when I reoriented the image currently used in the article (which has copyright issues, if you look at the licensing: this is not 2D) and placed it side by side with #3, it seemed that the one used to illustrate the article is either a reconstruction (which should be noted), or we have two different livers.

As you can see from the date above, this has been bugging me for a while, but I have only a glancing interest in things Etruscan. Would appreciate anyone with actual knowledge 'splaining this. Cynwolfe (talk) 12:09, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The drawing is now properly oriented (somebody rotated it in April 2012), but

(a) its resolution is so low as to make the transcription unreadable (not to mention the numbering of the sections)

(b) it has no proper reference, and is presumably a copyvio. The original (2003) uploader claimed "Line art created by en:User:Ihcoyc", but it is clearly just a low-res scan of a drawing taken from a printed publication.

Somebody should redraw the inscription manually, along the lines of this. --dab (𒁳) 10:41, 21 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
