How is this not a "Definition List?"[edit]

How is this not a "Definition List?" Is this not a list of proper nouns being defined? I think the list is clearer and more visual when the type faces are in bold.Dutchman Schultz (talk) 23:11, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's just a list of typefaces; there is no definition given for them. See for example List of typefaces. Boldface is used for things like glossaries, such as Glossary of trucking industry terms in the United States, where the word itself must be visually distinct from the definition. If all the entries in a simple list are bold, nothing stands out. ... discospinster talk 01:07, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

How is this NOT a list of definitions? The List of typefaces you cite is just that, a simple list, this however has annotations, dates, foundries, etc. Visually, it is important to set off the names of the type from the textual matter.Dutchman Schultz (talk) 17:29, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism[edit]

Someone changed all the quotation marks and apostrophes into tic marks. If I had the time I would undo this vandalism! Could an administrator revert this to the previous version? Dutchman Schultz (talk) 03:42, 8 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Links[edit]

The business of hot links for names of fonts simply redirecting to the same page -- which seems to be most or all of them -- is bullshit. If the font doesn't have its own Wikipedia page, don't link it or red-link it. Someone go through and clean this mess up and remove them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.252.156.11 (talk) 21:07, 27 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If a type witbhout an article is hot linked then it can still be listed in the category of "Foundry Types." Please note that if you go to Category:Letterpress typefaces you will find all of those types listed and linking back to here. Dutchman Schultz (talk) 01:41, 28 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I couldn't agree more with 198.252.156.11's comments. It's incredibly confusing and misleading to have apparently valid links that don't exist and a surefire way to waste people's time. If anyone wants to create pages for those typefaces because they're genuinely notable, step right up, though. Blythwood (talk) 23:19, 27 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Why bold and italic?[edit]

Why are someof the typefaces shown in italics and others in bold? There is no explanation. Should be one.

Also does this really deserve its own article? Shouldn't this just be part of the article on Goudy? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.79.5.1 (talk) 04:04, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Good point. More fonts added, and I've regularised it to be regular/italic for every font I have italics licenses for. Blythwood (talk) 21:59, 25 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
