Other notes[edit]

It appears that Rockville to Frederick was never a turnpike: [9] --NE2 10:31, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm really unsure about the name of the Boonsborough Turnpike (Boonsboro - Funkstown - Hagerstown). --NE2 00:59, 15 June 2007 (UTC) According to [10] it was the Hagerstown and Boonsboro Turnpike, and ran from Baltimore and Mulberry Streets in Hagerstown through Boonsboro to the Washington/Frederick County line. --NE2 00:28, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Calverton Turnpike began at Frederick Avenue and Calverton Road. --NE2 03:18, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like the Baltimore and Liberty Turnpike became the Electric Company Turnpike: [11] --NE2 00:44, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

List of redirects[edit]

Out of the 180 turnpikes listed in the table, 36 of them have wikilinks in the Name column. However, almost all of these wikilinks are redirects to the turnpike's successor route instead of an article about the turnpike itself. For instance, the Falls Turnpike redirects to Maryland Route 25. While on some level these redirects are appropriate, it is also disingenuous if the destination article has no details on the turnpike. Also, the turnpike table already mentions the successor highways, so a redirect should not be necessary. Here is a list of turnpikes and the successor route the wikilink redirects to:
