Wonderful[edit]

This is a great idea. We need these for more cities. 155.213.224.59 (talk) 14:21, 27 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 26 January 2019[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: Procedural close: I am reverting the unilateral move done by Kanghuitari. Per WP:BRD, as cited by Bermicourt, the initial change was the move from "sights" to "tourist attractions", this nomination is essentially a request for a revert and as Dekimasu notes, Wikipedia:Requested moves#Undiscussed moves stipulates that an undiscussed move which can be plausibly disagreed with can be speedily undone as technical, providing it was done recently. This fits those criteria. If Kanghuitari or Necrothesp (or anyone else for that matter) wants to speedily renominate, that's fine. List of tourist attractions in PotsdamList of sights in Potsdam – The article was moved without there being a discussion about its name and without a rationale being given for the move in the comments section. I'm not necessarily against it, but IMHO 'sights' are wider than 'tourist attractions'. Regardless of that, I feel that the logic for any move should be discussed first. The revert needs admin intervention as I was unable to do this myself under WP:BRD. Bermicourt (talk) 19:58, 26 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Actually it was moved from "List of sights of Potsdam" (not "in": my emphasis). The article is somewhat more than a mere enumeration, so "List of" may not be the best description anyway. Naming seems to vary between "List of" or not, and "in" or "of", but there is an article at Tourist attractions in Warsaw, for example. [[94.21.204.175 (talk) 07:06, 27 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, it seems to be part of a mass move by one editor but AFAICS without consensus. Mass moves should always have a consensus. Bermicourt (talk) 09:09, 27 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. See Category:Lists of tourist attractions by city. This is by far the commonest form of title. A move does not need to be discussed if it fits in with common Wikipedia usage. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:22, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • Well if they've been subject to a mass move, of course that will be the case lol! Have you checked to see how many are long-standing titles? Bermicourt (talk) 15:04, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
      • Some of them have been moved recently; many have not. -- Necrothesp (talk) 11:09, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Bermicourt, in these situations please use WP:RMUM. (For the time being, if this discussion is closed as "no consensus," the title should be reverted.) Dekimasuよ! 00:49, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
