This article is written in Indian English, which has its own spelling conventions (colour, travelled, centre, analysed, defence) and some terms that are used in it may be different or absent from other varieties of English. According to the relevant style guide, this should not be changed without broad consensus.

The footnote after the table is incomplete. "The area figures of states and union territories do not add up to area of India because:" ...?

Are the islands at the bottom deliberetly off to the side, or should it be corrected to made a new row?

Can the "Rank" and "In Map" be moved further apart, for the sake of the eyes? Also, would it be useful to include population stats as well? Thanks --Dpr 07:27, 28 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest that this list should be merged with other lists of Indian States and Territories. Since Wikipedia tables can be sorted, the user can then choose the desired sort, at the same time seeing information like area, population, capital etc. at a glance.

1.The entry against Mizoram should be El Salvador (area 21,041) and not Estonia.

A better table will be the one which gives the area of the country with which it is compared. Also Chandigarh is comparable to Wallis 7 Futuna and Daman and Diu to Saint Helena (same area 122). Ladakh:

Aksai Chin: 37,244 km² [1] Shaksgam Valley: 5,180 km² [2] Gilgit Baltistan: 72,496 km² [3]

Jammu and Kashmir:

Azad Kashmir: 13,297 km² [4]
