Updating the data[edit]

If you want to update this page, a better layout would be like the table in the 2005-data from the OECD: http://www.oecd.org/dataoecd/15/24/38335554.pdf. The OECD have also published newer numbers that can be found here: http://www.oecd.org/document/22/0,3343,en_2649_39023495_43221014_1_1_1_1,00.html#erate —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.157.240.161 (talk) 14:57, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Accuracy[edit]

Given the definition "the proportion of working age adults employed" these numbers seem way too high. For example, [1] puts that number at 61.2% for Canada in 2001. I suspect that the OECD chart actually shows participation rate, or some similar statistic, which includes unemployed people looking for work.--Yannick 07:24, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No, it is accurate. It is because the definitions of "employement rate" are different : Canada uses : 15+ years old where OECD uses 15-64. MaCRoEco 16:11, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

New Discussion[edit]

A discussion has been started at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Countries/Lists of countries which could affect the inclusion criteria and title of this and other lists of countries. Editors are invited to participate. Pfainuk talk 11:23, 17 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Entity[edit]

What's with the entity number on the table? --Trehansiddharth (talk) 01:02, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ambiguity[edit]

I know it is explained that this list covers the proportion of working age people that are employed, but wouldn't it be helpful to have better tables, stating for example, % of the total population employed, % of the total population of working age % of the working population retired \ students. I was interested in comparing the size of each countries working population because of the relation to the aging population issue and this data was not easy to find on wikipedia without crunching some numbers.--Senor Freebie (talk) 14:31, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Source column should only have numbered reference links. No text[edit]

I fixed the header row alignment. This also helps narrow the table.

The rows will not align if the table is too wide. So the source column should just have the numbered reference links without any text. --Timeshifter (talk) 06:09, 17 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
