tamil propaganda

  • I was stunned with the way this article was written !!! The whole article is a bashing of Sinhalese and written in a malicious way..Allegations made by tamil net or tamil nation was immediately deleted from the article..They fail as a WP:RS and to me as human beings to(thanks to their continuous support on terrorists and the killings of Sinhalese, which they have never condemned)..And Lanka Academic is not a primary source but I don't dismiss it outright,we need to take it case by case..If it quotes from any of the Tamil something sites,we can safely put it to the dust bin..If it quotes from reliable sources may be we can have it as a source...--Iwazaki 08:19, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
  • Reuters do not have the original article..and this event is toooooo minor to be add in the section..editor has removed one section as a minor incident and yet kept this one..duplicity??!!--Iwazaki 02:05, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
Good editing can you find some citations for rioting against Sinhalese people please. We should add that information to this list. Because today I found additional information about an event called Mawanella riots of 2002 organized by a local PA politicianRaveenS 23:34, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
Raveen some of the incidents such as 1956 incident, are not riots or pogroms !! These are extremely minor incidents !! Plus the way you write this, calling everything anti-tamil,anti-muslim, just shows how ignorant are you of the real stories..2006 Galle incident is also certainly not a riot nor a pogroms..I will certainly add all the ehtnic cleansing carried out by tamils and LTTE againts sinhalese and muslims in the north and east !! Anyway I will keep an eye or two to prevent wikipedia being used for anti-Sinhalese propaganda.Iwazaki 03:41, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
As it is written, the 1956 riot section is really not encyclopedic. How can it be an anti-Tamil riot when Tamils stage a sit down? And then the awfully spelled sentence "THe parrliamentarians were attacked by mobs": This is not in the reference. (I assume http://www.uthr.org/BP/volume1/Chapter2.htm is the correct reference, but that may be wrong.) That reference doesn't say anything about the incident; all it does is enumerate it in a list. That is not enough to base a section on it. — Sebastian 07:26, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
Herr Sebestian, thanks for pointing out it to us..This whole article is in a mess because it is written with a bad intention ..This is an obvious example of anti-Sinhalese propaganda over the wikipedia. Some incidents are far from being riots or pogroms.I am not sure how the editor defines a riot or pogrom, but having seen this article, I wont be surprised even if he add marital problems, fights , school fightings, drunken brawls ets ^_^ Iwazaki 会話。討論 08:34, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
岩崎さん! 善意にとる! For most things we observe there is more than one explanation. This is something I learned both from studying physics and from Buddhism. I'm tired now, but if you're interested, I can write a bit more on one of our talk pages about that. While your explanation is possible, another explanation is that this was written by a Tamil who wanted to fight for recognition for the plight of tamils, saw that the UTHR page mentioned a riot in 1956 and connected the dots, thereby hurting you and other Sinhalese. It is part of dukkha that we as humans tend to hurt others when we feel pain ourselves - and that we often hurt those whose respect or compassion we need most. — Sebastian 10:31, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
Herr Sebestian, 我慢にも限界があります。This is not the only article over wikipedia which was made with the sole purpose of defaming Sinhalese..Tamils in SL faces absolutely no plight at all..whether they live in south or north, they get fed by our tax money, they can go to school and enjoy free-education of course achieved by Sinhalese leaders, and find jobs anywhere, mostly created by Sinhalese,Muslim and foreign employers..anyway, those things have nothing to do with this article at all..These incidents are far from being pogroms or riots..1956,2006 should be immediately removed from this.--Iwazaki 会話。討論 18:52, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
I'm sorry, my Japanese isn't good enough. All I understand is: "I have no limit for laziness".
I have no objection to deleting the 1956 section. It has been tagged as "citation needed" since Februrary 24, and nobody has provided a corrected citation since. Moreover, the whole section has been tagged as "neutrality disputed" since March 3, and that hasn't been addressed either.
The 2006 section, however, apparently comes from a neutral source, the NY Times, so I don't see your problem with that. — Sebastian 20:18, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

I just fixed the spelling. I hope that doesn't provid any problem. Watchdogb 14:37, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

It obviously does..Iwazaki 会話。討論 18:52, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
You're obviously talking about two different things. Watchdogb said he hopes fixing the spelling doesn't provide a problem, and it sure doesn't. — Sebastian 20:18, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
I have changed most of the titles and even the subject matter and added back the 1915 with 5 citations to bootRaveenS 18:01, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
Well that solve most of the problem..The early names were POV you did the right thing by removing them..1915 riots did happened but just to title it as "anti Muslim riot" was wrong since both Muslims and Buddhists were engaged in the fighting..I add disputed tag to the 1977 incident for several reasons..first, one of the citations say nothing of this ! the second one is UTHR and frankly in these cases I dont think we can take it as a WP:RS..Also, you got to admit that , TULF already swore to secede from our country and the Government has every right to crack them..Its like the US civil war, You just cant blame Northern states led by Lincoln for fighting against the southern confederacy, can you ?.Separatists must be dealt no matter how.Iwazaki 会話。討論 09:54, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
That means we have to find better sources for 1977 riots, Riots were not just against TULF, but also against innocent civilians including many in Colombo (I was there). But unlike 1983, the UNP government was able to control it in time.
It was instigated by an action of one man attacking police in Jaffna during a carnival as a revenge for something else the police did. He was PLOTE member Manikadasan. After LTTE attacked PLOTE, he later on became a torturer and murdered para-military working for the government and was noted as such by US reports on Human Rights by country.
The irony is, that his mother was Sinhalese and he was a first cousin of Upatissa Gamanayake another rebel but with JVP. This is the disaster called Sri Lanka. All this agitations and blood letting like the ancient Maya for nothing at the end. RaveenS 14:05, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
