Re: CFMR-FM[edit]

I've removed a new entry for CFMR-FM from the list. I could find no trace of this supposed station on the Northwest Broadcasters, the Candadina Communications Foundation, or the CRTC websites. Also, there are stations in Nanaimo and Bremerton using that frequency, so... any ideas if it is a typo, a joke, or perhaps cable? --Ckatz 05:14, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Here's the deleted text, FYI: * FM 106.9 - CFMR-FM Classical (simulcast from Milwakuee, WI) --Ckatz 05:15, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Vandalism/nonsense. For one thing, the call sign CFMR is in use on a community radio station in Meander River, Alberta. For another, I don't buy that a radio station in Vancouver would be simulcasting a signal from Milwaukee, which isn't even in the same country. And finally, the edit history confirms that this very IP number was directly involved in a very weird series of edits last year around whether CBC Radio Two plays classical music or not. You can see some of his handiwork on the talk pages at Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. Under another IP number (User:65.54.154.25), he also previously changed the call sign of Vancouver's R2 station to CFMX-FM, based not on any actual event, but on his own personal theory that Toronto's commercial classical music station should take over R2. And, as it turns out, Milwaukee has a classical music station whose call sign is WFMR, which explains where our mystery vandal got the FMR part of his nonexistent call sign. Bearcat 03:04, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
