Untitled[edit]

Musikhochschule and Conservatories in Germany now offer pre-college programmes and belong in this list. The programmes are offered to children ca. 14-18, sometimes even younger. Yes, they are offered by institutions of higher learning but these programmes are similar to pre-college programmes anywhere else. I started this list both in German and in English and I also teach for the Pre-College Frankfurt.--Ebrownless (talk) 23:59, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Point taken, however I would normally think of a music "school" as being generally an institution in it's own right rather than being part of another instution which a pre-college programme within a hochschule is.

The List, in relation to the UK only gives the 5 major "specialist" music schools and doesn't give any of the Saturday programmes attached to Conservatories. My assumption, now corrected, was that the list was intended to list "schools". I have no difficulty with including pre-college programmes, but it would be helpful to differentiate the two. I established a new page Music schools in Germany as a start (but needs to be developed) to highlight the differences. Any additions/expansion on that page would be appreciated. My German is not too good. In relation to this list, it may be useful to perhaps have a subcategory on fulltime schools and pre-college programmes or some similar division? --Hywel Ashkenazy (talk) 21:33, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
