Where would be the best place for a description of

H.O.R.S.E ( poker )

A game or tournament format in which five forms of poker are played in rotation, usually either half an hour of each or one round of each. The games are limit hold 'em, Omaha/8, razz, seven-card stud (high), and seven-card stud high-low (the e standing for 8-or-better).

As you said yourself, HORSE is a tournament format. It's an amalgamation of 5 of the most popular poker games into one tournament structure with the aim of finding out whose the best all-rounder. Although some people would say it can't be classified, others would argue that it belongs in a category of its own (along with HOSE and SHOE) with a name along the lines of 'Multi-variant poker'.

HORSE isn't just about tournaments--it's common in live games as well, as are other combos. It just happens to be a combo game with a special name.

Home game variations[edit]

Wikipedia wants us to use articles that we can source. I have several games I would like to put up here, including "follow the queen", "jacks or better, trips to win", "low hole", and "low hole, roll your own", however I have no sources to point to for these games other than my childhood. I would suggest heading to the library or Barnes & Noble to find a book and just make sure the rules fit what you know. You certainly do not have to purchase them. I would guess it would take about a half-hour tops. MrHen. 21:55, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This seems to be a little sticky, what should be considered as a valid source for something as malleable and changing as poker rules? Penny Ante[edit]

Where should 'Penny Ante' be included in this article? It is a form of poker where bets are (was?) limited to one penny.

High Card[edit]
