Origin[edit]

This article was created from material transferred from List of playing-card nicknames in order to separate poker nicknames from general playing card nicknames. Bermicourt (talk) 17:38, 23 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Globalise[edit]

Currently the list looks very US-centric; it would be good to expand it with nicknames from elsewhere in the English-speaking world, indicating who uses which. Bermicourt (talk) 15:38, 20 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Citations[edit]

A lot of the supposed nicknames are uncited so they may just be very local and therefore not notable. I propose we clean the article up by removing all uncited nicknames and then the citation hatnote can also be removed. Bermicourt (talk) 09:00, 5 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. In particular I raised my eyebrow at Juggernaut for 53 in reference to an MtG card that hasn't been relevant in a constructed Magic format for decades and is completely unknown outside the fans of that (admittedly popular) game. But then that raises the question of which nicknames are notable? Is it enough that the usage is documented, or does it need to be described as in general use?
